Grey Knight Terminator with Thunderhammer and Storm Shield

It seemed like a good idea to have a couple of Grey Knight Terminators with thunderhammers and storm shields to go either with the brother-captain as a body-guard or with the close combat inquisitor. The thunderhammer being powerful enough to even force a landraider to a stop.

I wanted to use the Grey Knight models with their engraved shoulderpad on one side and the Grey Knight symbol on the other side. Just sticking on the thunderhammer of a normal Space Marine Terminator would not do.
I started with a complete Grey Knight Terminator model. The conversion consists of two different jobs. First job is to exchange the sword or the halberd with a hammer. And the second job is to get rid of the stormbolter. (The storm shield can be glued on the stombolter but that somehow does not feel right. So the stormbolter goes!)

separate the hammer The first thing to do is to remove the hammer from the 'normal' fist. I sawed of the handles on both sides of the hand. That was easy. The powercables ar a complete different story. With a hobby knive I tried to cut of the cables on a previous model. Which became a complete disaster. Leaving two ways open for me. Cut the fist away from the cable or as I did remodel the cables with Green Stuff later.
Now clip the halberd or the sword from the Grey Knight right arm. Make sure to leave a piece on both sides of the hand. Create a flat surface with a knive or a file.
In the next step I drilled a hole in the hand with a pin vice. The hole is made wider with a larger drill. Drill smaller holes in both parts of the handle of the hammer. Superglue is used to attach small metal pins to the handle parts
